[Use 2]
Carbohydrazide can be used as an oxygen scavenger for boiler water in the field of water treatment, and also as a passivating agent for metal surfaces to reduce the corrosion rate of metals. Carbohydrazide reacts with dissolved oxygen in water to form carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water. When used, the powdery carbohydrazide can be directly placed in water, or an aqueous solution thereof can also be used. It can be used alone or in combination with a redox catalyst such as hydroquinone or other anthracene, and a complex of cobalt. The temperature range for carbohydrazide is 87.8 to 176.7 ° C, that is, below the vaporization temperature of water.
